Tell us about yourself, where you’re from and what you enjoy.
I’m born and raised right here in Milwaukee. In my spare time I like to bake, create new berry flavors and spend time with my family.
Why did you start your business? What makes you passionate about it?
I started baking initially as a fun hobby and as a way to assist in paying for college. Baking has always been a hobby that calms me.
What do you want people to know about your business?
Bougie berries isn’t a business to me. It’s a passion. I truly love what I do.
Please explain why your business is important to the community.
I feel like it’s important for little girls and women to see that it’s possible to turn a passion into a paycheck. I didn’t have many examples of Black business owners, bakers more specifically when I was growing up. It’s important to see that it can be done not just hear about it. I feel like my business as well as the location of my business targets the community in a sweet and positive way.
