Tell us about yourself, where you’re from and what you enjoy.
I’m Doris Jones the owner of D’VAXVAs Portable Parties. I reside in Milwaukee and enjoy hanging out with my family, crafting, hosting fun events, reading, cooking and gardening.
Why did you start your business? What makes you passionate about it?
I started my business after searching online for a gift basket to send my husband at his workplace. I wanted the items to reflect more of his personality and interests. I didn’t find what I was looking for and started thinking about what I could create for him myself. I began thinking about other people who may have this issue and started to think of solutions. After many ideas, the party cart was created. A party cart is a multi-tiered rolling cart filled with the recipient’s favorite snacks, fun novelty items, party supplies, etc. The cart is delivered to commercial establishments and meant to be shared with colleagues in honor of the recipient. I’m passionate about my business because I can help ease my customers minds when it comes to gift giving. They provide me with details about the recipient and I design a personalized party cart.
What do you want people to know about your business?
A party cart can be decorated in a variety of themes to celebrate various occasions. We currently deliver mostly to workplaces. A party cart is a unique gift that will always be remembered. We also have party boxes that can be shipped nationwide.
Please explain why your business is important to the community.
My business is important to the community because it spreads positivity & joy, it boosts morale, creates team building, and brings smiles to faces.
Anything else we should know?
The name D’VAXVAs is the first initial of my immediate family members names in birth order. We all have different personalities and interests just like the many party carts that have been designed and ones that will be designed in the future.
