The current state of the world may have you feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious, fearful, or experiencing grief from loss. We see the importance of practicing self-care so that you can continue to take care of yourself and your family during these difficult times. Here are 5 ways to practice self-care in the Black business community.
Breakfast and Books
What better way to practice self-care than to take some time to sit down with a great book and a cup of coffee. Pull up a seat at the new Rise & Grind location, located in Sherman Phoenix! There’s something for everyone on their menu of specialty drinks and sandwiches. If you’re lucky, you might even catch Niche Book Bike out front. Browse the collection of the latest and greatest Black literature titles! Follow on Facebook to find out when and where events will take place.
Arts & Crafts
After your morning coffee at Rise & Grind head upstairs to Vibez Creative Arts Space to see what unique art services they are providing to the community. Speaking of arts and crafts… Located inside Maranatha Beauty Salon, Cut It Out Vinyl offers over 50 colors and patterns of Heat transfer vinyl, pre-designed transfers and more! Take home and design your own personalized items or order straight from the store. If you love to paint, Grape Escape is partnering with many community recreation programs in addition to private parties at this time to offer in-person and virtual lessons to people of all ages.
Wellness
Whether you’re interested in taking one-on-one or family yoga sessions in your home or are looking for support in dealing with the grief of a recent loss, Blue Lotus Life offers a variety of holistic health and wellness services. The owner, Shantell, is passionate about helping individuals, especially BIPOC that are experiencing imbalances in life should have access to holistic tools to support restoring the balance or enhancing their wellbeing.
